PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Tsveta Karayancheva started her political career as a municipal councilor in the town of Kardzhali. She was elected Member of the 41st, 42nd and 43rd National Assembly. She has been a Member of the standing parliamentary committees on regional policy, public works and local self-government, agriculture and forestry, and labor and social policy. She was elected Vice President of the Parliament within the current 44th National Assembly. On 17 November 2017 she was elected President of the Bulgarian Parliament. She is the Head of the National Assembly Delegation to the Interparliamentary Union as well as of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process.

Tsvetan Tsvetanov is Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Internal Security and Public Order in the 44th National Assembly of Bulgaria, Chairman of the parliamentary group of political party GERB (PP GERB) and Vice-Chairman of PP GERB. Mr. Tsvetanov served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 he has been member of the 42nd, 43rd and 44th National Assemblies of Bulgaria. For the period 2005-2009, Tsvetanov was Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality in charge of Security, Coordination and Control. From 1987 to 2005 he was employed by the Ministry of Interior, where he held various positions including specialist, inspector, senior inspector, and head of sector (operational assistant to the secretary general of the Ministry of Interior). Tsvetanov holds a law degree from the Institute for Post-Graduate Studies at the University for National and World Economy in Sofia, as well as a number of additional qualifications from Spain, the US, Belgium, and Hungary. Tsvetanov holds honorary awards from the ministries of interior of Spain, Italy, and Lithuania, from Europol, as well as a number of international organizations for his work in the security sector.

Kristian Vigenin is Chair of the Committee on European affairs and Oversight of the European funds in the 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Prior to assuming this position in May 2017, he has been Member of the 40th (2005-2007) and 43rd (2014-2017) National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria; Minister of Foreign Affairs (May 2013 - August 2014); Member of the European Parliament (January 2007 - May 2013). Between 2010 and 2013 he was a co-President of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly. As a parliamentarian, he has been actively involved in the OSCE PA: he was appointed Special Representative of OSCE PA for South Caucasus in February 2016 and Vice-President of the SDSP Group in OSCE PA in July 2016 and, in addition, he has been elected as Member of the Bureau of OSCE PA, Rapporteur of 1st Committee.

Dzhema Grozdanova is Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the 44th and 43rd National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the 42nd National Assembly she is member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and of the Healthcare Committee. She is Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds in the 41st National Assembly. Ms. Grozdanova is Chair of the Friendship Group Bulgaria-USA in the 44th and the 43rd National Assembly. She is Head of the Bulgarian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in the 44th, 43rd and the 41st National Assembly. She has been Vice-President of PACE from 2009 to 2011 and from January 2015 to January 2016. Ms Grozdanova initiated the Sofia declaration in PACE, which was unanimously adopted on the 27th November 2015. The Declaration calls for a 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government in support of the European unity and cooperation.

Chair of the Defense Committee
General Constantin Popov is a military pilot with over 1200 flight hours and has served as Commander of a fighter squadron and air base Commander of the Bulgarian Air Force, Deputy Chief and Chief of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria. General Popov is one of the first senior Bulgarian officers who worked in a NATO Headquarter as Chief of Staff, NATO Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland (2005 – 2006) and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Allied Air Component Command HQs, Izmir, Turkey (2006 to 2008). He holds a Master’s Degree from Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, USA and a Ph.D. in 'Organization and Management of the Armed Forces' from the Military Academy "G.S.Rakovski" in Sofia. He is currently Chairperson of the Defense Committee and member of the Committee on Internal Security and Public Order of the 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance
Menda Stoyanova has been a member of the Bulgarian Parliament since 2009. She is Chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance within the mandate of the 41st, 43rd and 44th National Assembly. Over the years she has proven herself as a respected professional in the field of taxation and public finance. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her professional career began in the Tax Administration as an expert, where gradually she achieved the distinguished position of Director of the Territorial Directorate of the National Revenue Agency in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Later she became Director of the Regional Directorate in Plovdiv, which oversees the activities of the Territorial Directorates of the National Revenue Agency in Plovdiv, Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Pazardzhik. She has participated in many international projects and trainings in the field of taxation and public finance.

Petar Kanev is Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy and Tourism in the 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Prior to taking this office in May 2017, he was Member of Parliament at the 40th (2005-2009), 42nd (2013-2014) and 43rd (2014-2017) National Assembly. He served as Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy and Tourism in the 43rd National Assembly; Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance at the 40th and 42nd National Assembly; Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Bulgaria - Russia at the 40th National Assembly. He is Head of the Delegation of the National Assembly to the Black Sea Economic Co-operation Parliamentary Assembly at the 42nd, 43rd and 44th National Assembly and Vice-President of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation Parliamentary Assembly in 2017. He was Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov on economic cooperation in the period 2009 – 2011; Vice President of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria in the period 2003 – 2007; Chairman of the Managing Board of the Union of the Printing Industry in Bulgaria.

Dr. Hasan Ademov is a Physician, specialized in Anesthesiology and Reanimation. He started his political career as a Member of the political party Movement for Rights and Freedoms. Dr. Hasan Ademov was elected Member of the 38th, the 39th, the 40th, the 41st, the 42nd, the 43rd and 44th National Assembly (1997-2013; 2014-present). For the same period he has been Member of the standing parliamentary committee on Labour and Social policy as Chairperson (2001-2009) and Deputy Chairperson (2010-2013). Dr. Hasan Ademov has been Minister of Labour and Social policy (2013-2014). He has been Chairperson of the Labour, social and demographic policy committee (2014-present). Dr. Hasan Ademov has been Member of the standing parliamentary committee on Healthcare (1997-2013; 2014-2017).

Chair of the Committee for Control of the Security Services, the Application and Use of the Special Intelligence Means and the Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act
Mr. Dimitar Nikolov Lazarov has a Master’s degree in Law. He started his political career with Political Party GERB and was elected member of parliament at the 41st, 42nd, 43rd and 44th National Assembly (from 2009 to 2018). He is member of the Legal Affairs Committee during that period. During the mandate of the 41st National Assembly he is Deputy Chair of the Environment and Water Committee, member of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, member and rotating Chair of the Standing subcommittee with the Legal Affairs Committee, which performs parliamentary control and supervision as envisaged by Art. 34 b of the Special Intelligence Means Act and by Art. 261 b of the Electronic Communications Act. At the 42nd National Assembly he is member of the Committee for Control of the Security Services, the Application and Use of the Special Intelligence Means and the Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act. At the 43rd and 44th National Assembly he is elected Chair of the Committee for Control of the Security Services, the Application and Use of the Special Intelligence Means and the Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act.

Delian Dobrev was born on 14 May 1978 in Haskovo. In 2002 he graduated as a Bachelor of Economics at the Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut, USA. He specialized in accounting and finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Delian Dobrev is an expert in the field of managing European projects, financial and tax legislation. His professional career began at the KPMG consulting company in Toronto, Canada and the Newton Finance Management Group in Sofia. In 2009 he was elected Member of Parliament from PP GERB at the 41st National Assembly, he was Deputy Chair of the Committee on Economic Policy, Energy and Tourism and member of the Budget and Finance Committee. In 2012 he was appointed Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. He is Member of Parliament from PP GERB at the 43rd and 44th National Assembly and Chair of the Energy Committee.

Ivelina Vasileva is chairperson of the Environment and Water Committee and deputy chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds at the National Assembly in the 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. She served as minister of environment and water from November 2014 to January 2017 in the second government of prime-minister Boyko Borisov. Ms. Vasileva was a member of the 42nd and 43rd National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria (May 2013 - November 2014). Previously, she served as deputy minister of environment and water in the first government of Mr. Boyko Borisov (2009-2013). Before that, she served as deputy mayor of EU integration and ecology in the municipality of Burgas (2007-2009). She is a specialist with rich experience in the management of European programs and projects.
