On 22 and 23 March 2018, in Sofia, the Ministry of Defence will host an informal meeting of the Political-Military Group (PMG), a body of the EU which carries out preparatory work in the field of the Common Security and Defence Policy.
In two working sessions, held at Boyana Residence, the delegates will discuss matters related to improving the effectiveness of participation in EU military training missions under the Common Security and Defence Policy, as well as topical issues on the EU’s defence agenda.
The programme includes visits to the G. S. Rakovski Military Academy and to the National Museum of Military History. The delegates will also be introduced to the operations and activities of the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE).
The meeting is part of the official calendar of events during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Representatives of the EU Member States, the European External Action Service and the Council will participate in the meeting, which will be chaired by the permanent Chairman of the PMG.
