The attaché trip of the European Research Area Committee (ERAC) will be held on 14-16 March 2018 in Plovdiv. The meeting is organised under the framework if the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. This will be the 37th meeting of the committee. An attaché trip of the Research/Atomic questions working party will be held in parallel with participation of the diplomats in charge for research.
During the meeting of the ERAC the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU will present the scientific research and innovations system in Bulgaria and outline the progress achieved with regards to themes related to European research policies.
The representatives of the EU Member States will exchange information on the progress of the common European research policies including research infrastructures, public-public and public-private partnerships, open science, effectiveness and efficacy of the research system, etc.
The launch of a discussion on the governance of the European Research Area (ERA) will be in the focus of the ERAC’s attaché trip. The dialogue will be related to the future development of the ERA towards reaching its objectives.
As part of the attaché trip, the representatives of Austria will present the priorities and policies of the incoming Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The ERAC is an advisory body to the European Commission. It is composed of the directors in charge of research in the EU Member States.
